오늘날 우리 사회는 혼돈과 실망으로 가득 차 있습니다. 건강치 못한 관계와 자아상을 혼자 감싸 안고 살아가는 이들을 많이
보게 됩니다. 교회가 이러한 아픔들을 치료하고 회복시키기보다는 적잖은 원인을 제공하는 듯하여 마음이 착찹해질 때가
많습니다. 그래서 이 시대에 필요한 건강한 교회들이 많이 일어나야 한다고 늘 생각합니다.
퀸즈한인교회는 하나님이 이곳에서 주신 결코 미약하지 않은 꿈을 함께 꾸고자 합니다.
뉴욕의 큰 한인교회라는 겉모습이 아닌, 우리 안에서부터 행하시고 변화시키시는 실제적인 하나님을 하루하루 꾸준히
알아가기 원합니다.
우리가 가진 유전적인 것들이 아닌, 하나님의 시각과 성경이 가르치는 가치를 좇아 예수 안에서 함께 울고 웃으며 변화되어가는 삶만이 우리가 가장 의미 있게 사는 길이라 믿습니다. 그리고 우리가 변화되는 만큼 하나님은 우리가
속한 이 사회도, 또 이 거대한 도시 뉴욕도 조금씩 변화시켜가시리라 믿습니다.
이곳에서 인격적이고 살아계신 하나님을 체험하며, 그 사랑으로 세워진 교회를 누리실 수 있기를 기도합니다. 함께 이 길을
걸으며 우리 각 개인이 이 땅에서 살아갈 수 있는 최선의 삶을 살 수 있게 되기를 기도합니다.
First things first, we meet in East Elmhurst (89-00 23rd Avenue), we are very close to LaGuardia airport and the Grand Central Parkway. We have two services at 10:30am and 1:30pm. When you arrive there is a parking lot inside the church gates, but also across the street at Vaughn College.
We know going somewhere for the first time can be daunting. Our hope is to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Probably the most difficult thing about going somewhere new is that feeling of being an outsider and/or stranger.
We know churches can be no different, and Pastor John and Sarah are strong advocates of reaching out, crossing divides and become inclusive, welcoming and loving. To help you get acclimated, there is a welcoming committee who are here to reach out to you and introduce you to some of the "regulars" and let you know how to get connected.
Our worship runs about 90 minutes, and our praise tends towards a modern style, however our liturgy is structured and in a traditional reformed style. Most people dress casually, and there are many children milling about in the early service, before they are sent out to the children's ministry.
Like most 17-year old EMs (English ministries) - Our demographics lean towards younger people with the majority of our congregation in their mid-late 20s and 30s, and a few in their early 40s. There aren't a lot of English speaking Korean-American senior citizens in our ministry, yet. Our college and post college group is our second largest category and is growing.
